*This is not for the feint of heart. If you are at all squeamish, proceed with caution. How is it that all 3 of my births were completely different? I thought I knew what I was getting myself into, but I never could have imagined the agony I would experience this time around. Like we always say, it's a good thing he's cute.
5:30 am- Arrive at hospital to learn that the doctor scheduled the induction at the wrong hospital. All the beds were full. Landon (a.k.a. my hero) stomps his feet and won't let them turn us away. I am near hysteria.
8:30 am- They finally relent, and make room for us. Thank you head nurse Kim.
9:00 am- Start pitocin
10:00 am- Doctor breaks my water and then jokingly tells me to not hurry too fast, he has an appointment at noon.
10:30 am- Insane pain, epidural time.
10:40 am- Oops, anesthesiologist is an idiot, had to do it over again.
10:45 am- 4 cm dilated. Epidural isn't working. They of course, don't believe me.
11:00 am- Landon and his mother leave for an early lunch.
11:20 am- Is the epidural EVER going to kick in?
11:22 am- I want to die.
11:30 am- I call my nurse, I can't breathe it hurts so much.
11:32 am- She checks me. I am fully dilated and the baby is crowning. I am all alone here.
11:35 am- Practice push, he is halfway out, where the he** is Landon?
11:40 am- No doctor, no Landon. Pain. Panic.
11:45 am- Landon walks in as I really start to push.
11:59 am- Out comes Reese. Like a cannon. Did I mention my children have HUGE heads? Birthed by nurse Nikki and about a dozen other nurses standing by. No doctor= no episiotomy. Not good.
12:15 - Doctor arrives to sew me up. Still no epidural. Worst pain in all my life. I will never sit again.
The good news is I am recovering fine. It hasn't been nearly as painful as I had anticipated. It of course helped that my amazing mother-in-law was here waiting on me hand and foot for the last week. I just love her. And my baby boy really is such a good sweet baby, I really can't complain. He hardly ever yells, unlike his very high maintenance big sister Lucy. Maybe that's why her birth was so easy. We are in baby heaven around here. Landon even thanked me for talking him into having this one. We already couldn't imagine life without him.

Reese Mackay Cowan
He arrived on Friday the 22nd of august. He was a nice 9 pounds 4 ounces, 22 inches long. It was a wild day, and I will surely post about it soon. But right now I am in that cocoon of love that you experience right after a new baby enters your home. We are IN LOVE! He is beautiful and perfect and the sweetest thing that ever lives. My darling girls love him too and dote over his every face and coo. Isn't he gorgeous?
P.S. Can you believe the pictures Landon put up of me after giving birth? Yikes. He is fired from guest blogging!

Induction Tomorrow!
Apparently I am a very sympathetic crying pregnant lady. Doctor's can't resist.
Wish me luck!

New Experiences
1. Caster oil- mix in a blender with some OJ and ice- not so bad.
2. Spending the day in the bathroom- not great.
3. Not eating all day to avoid some of those bathroom trips- helped a bit.
4. Heading to the hospital after an hour of solid 4-5 minute apart contractions- hooray!
5. Being sent home after 2 hours in triage when the contractions started slowing down- DANG IT!!!!!
Looks like my last resort didn't pan out.

Can I Just Say
I hate my doctor. It looks like there is some caster oil in my future.

I'm Sorry But...
you are just going to have to wait for a real post until there is something to post about. (Think tiny bundle of blue.) Wish me luck at my appointment tomorrow trying to talk my doctor into getting this show on the road. I have a few tricks up my sleeve. I am trying to be patient, but I know it is time. He is ready, I am ready, now the doctor just needs to be ready. Stay tuned.

Happy Birthday
to my girlies. 5 and 3 years old today. It is a big day in my life. I gave birth twice on this day! (Hopefully not 3 times, I think two children with the same birthday is enough.) I love my girls. They are the best things in my life. (Other than their daddy.) I hope they know how much I adore them.*getting a picture of the two of them acting normal together is nearly impossible.

The End

Okay people. This book is killing me. Utterly ridiculous. The dialogue is atrocious. The characters are obnoxious. She drags it all out way too long. Why am I reading it you ask? Because I HAVE to know what HAPPENS! AHHHH! I guess she must be doing something right to get me hooked to these totally annoying books. I am just so glad this is the end. And it better be a good ending, or else.
What are you thinking?

37 Weeks + New Do

I haven't had blond hair since Jolie was a baby. I haven't had straight hair for at least 6 months. Jolie loves it. She thinks I look like her twin. Lucy wants me to change it back, I guess I just don't look like the mom she knows and loves. Landon loves it. I look just like I did when we were married.

Just don't get used to it, it will probably be at least another 6 months until I can get myself to straighten it again! Children just don't allow you an hour a day to work on your hair. Maybe someday I can take care of me again. :)
